Understanding Dreams, Wishes, and Their Energy Sources

Chapter 1: The Nature of Our Desires

In our lives, every action we take serves a purpose. There’s always a target—clear and defined. However, we often lack the time to identify or pursue this target, especially when everything appears to be going smoothly. When we act, it is typically fueled by an internal drive toward a specific outcome, which we ultimately achieve.

Our subconscious mind is a powerful force, quietly aligning our actions with our true desires. Even if our conscious thoughts rebel, the subconscious knows precisely what we have requested from life. While our minds may indulge in endless fantasies, it’s our unconscious that dictates our behaviors.

For instance, I might glance at myself in the mirror and feel dissatisfied, prompting me to commit to a workout routine. This decision feels resolute and immediate.

I swiftly locate a gym that is convenient and has parking available—perfect! I contemplate a year-long membership but decide to start with a six-month commitment instead. Off I go to purchase new workout gear—no more using old stuff!

Tomorrow’s first lesson? No, I can’t start tomorrow; Wednesday is the day! Great, I’ve avoided procrastinating until Monday! My self-esteem is on the rise, at least momentarily.

Wednesday arrives. After work, I’m dressed in my new gear, feeling confident as I approach the gym. I envision a toned physique, a flat stomach, and a dazzling smile—perhaps a touch too ambitious! I even mention my new gym routine to colleagues.

Fast forward a week: a business trip, followed by a party, then more work. I miss one session, then another, and another. Regret sets in. I question my commitment: Did I really decide this for myself? What about those abs?

I push myself to recall the initial excitement, but it feels elusive. My enthusiasm has faded, and my self-esteem plummets. Once again, it appears I’ve failed to follow through.

In truth, I achieved precisely what I desired, perhaps even more than I anticipated. The real question is: What did I truly want?

Each of our aspirations is powered by an inherent energy source—a battery or perhaps even a generator that fuels our dreams. This energy is sufficient for realizing our genuine desires, not the whims of our imagination.

Sometimes, we may find ourselves wanting merely to want. This becomes the ultimate objective—a sense of fulfillment from the desire itself. “If I wish for it, I can achieve it!” becomes our mantra.

Often, we simply wish to explore possibilities, whether it’s trying an action or gauging a result, even a modest one.

The avenues for desires are numerous. Reflecting on my experience, the true aim was to impress colleagues.

Before I even started:

  • I commended myself for effectively organizing my gym visit.
  • I reveled in the joy of shopping for new athletic wear.
  • I sought to test my physical limits—how are my muscles responding?
  • I envisioned the admiration from my peers.

And just like that, the genuine wishes were fulfilled. What remained were mere fantasies about health, a toned body, and a slim figure. However, my energy and resources weren’t aligned with these superficial goals; I wasn’t prepared to invest in those aspirations yet.

Identifying our true desires isn’t particularly challenging; it simply requires honesty and introspection. The primary hurdle lies in our long-standing habit of deceiving ourselves.

We inherently sense our real motives and desires, recognizing them through feelings rather than thoughts or words. However, we often neglect to trust our intuition.

The aforementioned example may seem trivial, but it reflects decisions that can significantly impact our lives—such as whom to marry, where to study, or what career path to pursue. Mistakes can cost us years, leaving behind scars, while time continues to move forward.

It’s crucial to pay attention to our inner voices. Our unconscious minds always know what we truly want, and therein lies our strength.

When we stray from fulfilling our authentic desires, we encounter challenges. We feel drained, seek motivation, struggle against laziness, and rely on false self-esteem.

This discord signals that something is amiss, yet we often persist in unnecessary actions without comprehending our emotions.

Here, I aim to assist you in navigating these feelings, bringing clarity to your life. Understanding what actions to take will become clearer as you learn to interpret your true emotions.
