When we talk about releasing resistance, what does it really entail? As a devoted follower of the law of attraction, mindfulness, and self-awareness, I often find myself grappling with the concept of "letting go." Despite my extensive collection of books adorned with colorful sticky notes, I still struggle to fully understand how to let go of the emotional burdens that weigh me down.

A personal experience often leaves me feeling trapped in the aftermath of heart-wrenching events, like the end of a significant relationship. I would often assert, “I have let go!” while still carrying the emotional scars that lingered. This struggle isn't unique; it could stem from various life experiences such as a breakup, betrayal, job loss, or financial difficulties.

One of my biggest challenges has been dealing with my adult daughter, who has emotionally distanced herself from me. This situation has pushed me to discover strengths within myself that I didn’t know existed. My persistent attempts to reconnect with her, despite her silence for over a year, have led me through a tumultuous journey filled with pain and despair.

In today's world, many embrace the idea of severing ties as a way to resolve conflicts, which has become increasingly prevalent among younger generations. This "cut and run" mentality can be harsh, yet it’s a reality I’ve had to confront.

Experiencing rejection repeatedly has left me feeling disheartened and desolate, as I relive the pain each time I reach out. It was only later that I realized my inability to let go of this resistance was the root of my suffering.

When faced with emotions like anger, guilt, sadness, or regret stemming from circumstances beyond our control, we often try to manipulate outcomes. However, these feelings are indicators of our resistance to accepting our current reality.

To truly release resistance, we must learn to drop the burdens we carry.

What it Means to Stop Chasing:

Chasing someone or something will not lead to a change of heart. Despite my best efforts—sending texts and emails filled with memories—I found myself in a cycle of rejection.

What it Means to Stop Fighting:

Each attempt to fight for a connection only deepened my pain. Repeating the same actions yielded the same results, leaving me in a perpetual state of longing and despair.

What it Means to Stop Hiding:

Avoidance is not a solution. Ignoring the emotional weight only provides temporary relief until solitude forces the pain back to the surface.

Chapter 2: Letting Go and Moving Forward

In the face of inevitable change, we have a choice: continue to struggle against it or let go and embrace the new reality.
